Oktoberfest Classic Sponsor: Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church

This is a great announcement.  Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church (LCMS) has agreed to be a birdie sponsor for the Oktoberfest Classic.  Our sister church in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas has been a constant source of support.  They regularly have three or four members serve as volunteers to the Family Life Pantry and other members give diapers and baby food regularly.  They are witnessing firsthand the great need.

Shepherd of the Hills endowment committee came together recently and proposed to be a sponsor of the tournament.  Because of their by-laws, they had to take the request to the congregation, and the congregation approved the sponsorship unanimously on Sunday.  Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church embodies what we here at Hope also teach regularly; that the life together we have around word of God and Christ’s means of grace pours forth in the witness of confessing the faith and providing the mercy care to those in need.  That three fold emphasis of Witness, Mercy, Life Together is a beautiful picture of the active life of the Church.

We are very thankful to the members of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church for the forethought to create an endowment to which members can give of their estate for future work of the Church by which they can further the mission of the church through evangelism and mercy, as they rest from their labors awaiting the final resurrection.

Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church is a beautiful church nestled in the rolling of hills of North Central Arkansas.  Unlike many rural churches, they are now a growing church, having had three baptism this past year, completed one adult instruction class and already have another class scheduled for this fall.  With a strong grip on the need for fellowship together they are an encouraging sight to see in Arkansas.  You are invited to worship services there at 8:00am with Bible study after service.  There is also midweek Bible study at 4pm and adult instruction class starting up on September 3rd.  They have a new website getting up and running at https://shepherdofthehillslcms.com/
