NE Arkansas Recital and Hymn Sing!

Martin Luther once said, “next to the Word of God, music deserves the highest praise.” (Luther’s Works, vol. 53, pg 523)

Coming soon, on May 19th at 4pm, organists and pianists from The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod will be joining us to play Classical music as well as lead the congregation in well known Lutheran hymnody. Join us as we rejoice in the gift of music and pray that our Lord, Jesus Christ, will continue to send the comforter, the Holy Spirit, to raise up men and women to serve in this important vocation of the Church.

Afterwards, join us for fellowship around a most blessed meal! We hope you will be able to join us for this inaugural event!

At this event we also will recognize Malachi Heinecke who heads off to Concordia University Wisconsin this fall in the Pre-Seminary Program and will study Biblical languages and music (especially the organ!)

I hadn’t noticed that you have such a magnificent pipe organ at Hope. It looks incredible from the picture. I look forward to hearing it at the recital.

This is not a picture of our pipe organ, rather just a pipe organ. It is hard to give a clear picture of ours due to the lay out of the sanctuary and the rafters. It is a blessing to have had members who had the foresight to purchase a pipe organ back in the 1990s. I am still getting help finding our historical documents and as far as I know we have not found any comprehensive history done on the organizing of getting this organ. Our high school organist, and organizer of this recital and hymn sing, Malachi, has been receiving instruction on the different stops from gifted organists around the synod and the members comment regularly that they don’t believe they’ve ever heard the organ make such beautiful music. I am very excited to see what the other organists will do with this beautiful instrument as we give thanks to God for his gift of music.
