A natural partnership in caring for all: Meyers-Davis Life Coaching and Disability Services
We have another Eagle Sponsor for the Oktoberfest Classic, coming October 2, a little more than 5 weeks away! That sponsor is Myers-Davis Life Coaching and Disability Services! This is a perfect partnership to have. For while we are caring primarily for the youngest, Myers-Davis is helping throughout life. From Grade School and onward they seek to help teach people to make them successful for life.
Founded in 2014 by Dr. Edward Myers and Angela Davis they have services that benefit a vast array of people. Check out their website and see how great their work is! There is so much good they do for our communities that it is hard to write a concise post! You could put it this way, if you need help they will find it for you! As I read through their website one of the statements struck me so well, it said, they “Foster an environment in communities where all people are created equal.” That’s a profound statement but you can see it in Dr. Edward Myers and Angela Davis’s commitment to such a high sponsorship level. For the life all is important and it must start with the youngest and the weakest amongst us and they exhibit it with the care of all in need or simply those who want to improve and do better in life with a potential to always reach higher and to fulfill their dreams.
I’d like to highlight a couple of those services.
The School-to-Work Study class
For example they work with 15 school districts throughout north central Arkansas! One such program offers students life skills, communication skills, job skills, job exploration, job training, career interests, personality assessments, coping skills, transitioning from high school into the workforce/trade school/college, and so much more. There are Five Core Studies through the Department of Education for Transition Services:
- Job Exploration
- Work-Based Learning
- Counseling on Post-Secondary Educational Programs
- Work Readiness Training
- Self-Advocacy
High School Career Competition
an annual competition that has students work colaberatively over 6-8 weeks. During this time they create a business concept, design branding, develop sales strategies, in essence, every part of a business to make it successful that they present to panel of judges and they will win prizes. This year they also started inviting business to have booths in order for the students to explore real job connections and make connections with the community.
Disability Services
One of their fundamental services is the generous care they have is putting into practice the need to care for all. In 2021 they obtained a licensure with Arkansas DHS Division of Developmental Disabilities Services and became a provider for CES Waiver services of supportive living, supplemental support, respite, crisis intervention, community transitions, and consultation services. In 2024 Myers-Davis established a program for a Vocational/Life Skills Training Center for people with disabilities.
This is only scratching the surface of what they do. They put out a quarterly newsletter to help you keep track of all the things they are doing.
